Anxiety attack – It is a feeling of overwhelming apprehension fear, distress, or worry. In some cases, an anxiety attack occurs gradually and may be worsened as a stressful event approaches. Anxiety attacks may vary significantly and symptoms can differ that depend on the anxiety level of a person due to the signs of anxiety do not occur to everybody and can change from time to time.

An anxiety attack may have a specific trigger including a relationship problem, issues in the office, any competitive or board exam, an interview in any company, and many more. Generally, it occurs slowly if an individual feels anxious. Anxiety attack is not a diagnosable condition and is less severe than a panic attack.

Symptoms of an anxiety attack – There are several common symptoms of anxiety attacks are given below –

- Increased heart rate
- Dry mouth
- Restlessness
- Breath rapidly
- Worry or apprehension
- Feel panic
- Nervous
- Insomnia

Causes of an anxiety attack – The causes of an anxiety attack is not fully understood by doctor or researchers. But life experiences including traumatic events may cause anxiety attacks in those people who are suffered from mild anxiety. There are several medical causes of an anxiety attack are given below –
- Chronic pain
- Diabetes
- Respiratory disorders
- Withdrawal from alcohol
- Drug misuse
- Rare tumors
- Stress
Risk factors – There are several risk factors of an anxiety attack are discussed below –
- Stress – A small stress build-up due to some issues that may cause excessive worry or anxiety. Due to serious illness or any health issue may trigger an anxiety attack.
- Trauma – When any child who is suffered from trauma or abuse then it may increase the risk of getting or developing anxiety attacks. If any adult person is suffered from a traumatic event in past then may develop an anxiety attack.
- Alcohol or drugs – Misuse, use, and withdrawal of alcohol or drug may cause worsen anxiety attacks.
- Personality – Due to less confidence or not good personality in people, it may increase the risk of getting worried or anxiety attacks.
- Family history – Anxiety attacks or disorders can run in families.
- Mental disorders – If you are suffering from any mental disorders such as depression then it may increase the risk of an anxiety attack.
Complications – There are several complications of an anxiety attack or disorder that may also worsen several other physical and mental conditions are given below –
- Headache pain
- Depression
- Insomnia
- Social isolation
- Loneliness
- Suicide
- Digestive problem
