World Arthritis Day is celebrated every year on October 12 across the world to spread awareness about the impact of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal diseases also called as RMDs. The main purpose of this international day is to recognize the symptoms that are related to arthritis and lay emphasis on early diagnosis and treatment. This international day aims to educate or inform people about the preventive measures and symptoms thus it is diagnosed at the right time without any further complications and highlights the effect of these diseases on the life of a person in daily life.

Arthritis is one of the diseases which affects the joints and occurs especially at an older age. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint swelling, pain, redness on the skin, and decreased motion in the affected joints. Osteoarthritis is one of the most common types of arthritis that normally occurs with an increase in age and tends to affect the knees, fingers, and hips. There are several other types of rheumatic diseases including lupus, fibromyalgia, gout, and septic arthritis.
Presently, arthritis is one of the common problems in older individuals where they are suffering from swelling of muscles or joint pains. Family history, previous joint injury, and obesity are the main causes of arthritis. The main aim of this international day is to spread awareness about the diseases which affect the joints. The treatment of arthritis aims to lower the symptoms and improve the quality of life.
Arthritis is a disease that affects the physical movement and restricts the daily life of a person. It is also an inflammatory condition which affects especially the joints that cause stiffness and pain. Arthritis occurs especially in older people but it may also affect individuals at any age including children.
Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis are the most common types of arthritis in which Rheumatoid arthritis may occur by an inappropriate immune reaction affecting the cartilage of the joints and osteoarthritis may occur in joints and several other body parts such as hips, spine, and knees.
