In the year 1974, the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) is a non-profit tax-exempt educational organization and is located in the United States. As per North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS), October 1 was chosen as an official date of World Vegetarian Day to spread awareness about the environmental, humanitarian, and health benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle across the world.
