History –Previously, World Bamboo Organization declared that World Bamboo Day is observed every year on September 18 during the 8th World Bamboo Congress which was held in Bangkok in the year 2009. The main aim of this international day is to give more exposure to the economic potential of bamboo and highlights the significance of its cultivation in new industries across the world.
Theme – The theme of World Bamboo Day in the year 2022 has not been declared yet. In the year 2021, the theme of this international day is’#Plant Bamboo, it is Time To Plant Bamboo’’ which tells us about the plant more bamboo and promoting bamboo growth.
Significance – The main purpose of this international day is to spread awareness about the uses of bamboo among people worldwide. This international day aims to promote the new cultivation of bamboo in developing regions which can yield tremendous economic development all around the world. Bamboo is used in many ways as a food and also as a substitute for construction material, and wood. The interesting thing about bamboo is that it does not need pesticides, chemicals, or fertilizers to thrive and grow.
