Introduction – Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on September 5 in India to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a scholar, Bharat Ratna recipient, and highly respected teacher who was born in the year 1888.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was also a politician and the first Vice President of India from 1952 to1962. Later he also became the second President of India between 1962 and 1967. In the year 1931, Dr. Radha Krishnan was also received or honored with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India. He was also an Indian academic professor and was born on September 5, 1888, so the birthday of Dr. Radhakrishnan is celebrated as a teacher’s day every year on September 5 in India. Dr. Radhakrishnan was also the 4th Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University between 1939 and 1948. He was also the 2nd ambassador of India to the Soviet Union between 1949 and 1952.

In past, when Dr. Radhakrishnan took office as the second President of India then their students demanded to celebrate September 5 as a special day in the year 1962. Dr. Radhakrishnan wanted to celebrate September 5 as Teacher’s Day to recognize the significance and contribution of teachers in the individual’s life. Thus, September 5 is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in schools, colleges, universities, and many other educational institutions in India since 1962.

Significance – Teachers play a significant role in your life to make a great career and successful person. This day is celebrated by students in all educational institutions including schools, colleges, and universities to show honor and gratitude for their teachers by offering chocolates, flowers, and cards.
Celebrations – On this day, students organized a program including dance performances and arrange debates on several topics for celebrating this occasion in several schools, colleges, and universities. To celebrate teacher’s day, students express their gratitude to our teachers for their guidance and influence. This day also celebrates all the teachers of schools or colleges who played an important role in your life with taught us everything about this world. You can also celebrate this day by offering flowers, cards, chocolates, and many more gifts to their teachers on this day.
