Cosmetic Dermatology

Cosmetic Dermatology is a process of improving the appearance of the skin by preventing skin defects such as wrinkles, acne, sun damage, and scars.

Several tools are available in cosmetic dermatology such as radiofrequency, chemical peels, lasers, intense pulsed light (IPL), liposuction,Botox and Dysport, fillers like Juvederm and Radiesse,cosmeceuticals, and medications. Sun harm is the main problem for skin which has several adverse effects. Some treatments are available for the skin problems which depend upon the age of the person such as intense pulsed light (IPL),CO2 and erbium laser resurfacing, chemical peels and tropuical treatments such as retinoids. Some other skin diseases are occurred such as Rosacea, Melasma, and Cellulite.

Melasmais – It is  general problems in skin which causes brown to gray-brown patches on the face. It also causes in several parts of the body such as bridge of nose, cheeks, forehead and upper lip. The common treatment of the melasma is sun protection. This disease is also prevented by wearing a wide-brimmed hat when you are outside from home. Sunscreen is also treatment for this problem. This skin disease is also common in pregnancy. The treatment of this disease is very difficult. It shows some improvement by using laser and IPL treatments and also tropical medications.

Rosacea – It is also a problem in skin which causes redness and visible blood vessels in the face. Rosacea may also causes small, red, pus-filled bumps. These symptoms of Rosacea may occur in several weeks to months and then reduce. It can affect anyone but it is generally affects middle-aged women which have fair skin. It can be prevented but controlled by tropical treatments and photo facials.

Cellulite – It causes the formation of dimples and lumps in the skin. There are several common names for cellulite such as hail damage, orange-peel skin and cottage-cheese skin. This skin disease is more common in females. It can also effect on men. At about 80 to 90 percent of women may suffer from cellulite. The cause of this disease is unidentified andit appears due to a communication between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer which situated below the surface of the skin.

The connective tissue and fat cells are arranged vertically in this layer in women. If the fat cells protrude into the layer of skin then the appearance of cellulite in women. The cellulite appears less in men due to tissue has a criss-cross structure.

Some other treatment tools are available to prevent these skin disease which are discussed below –

Intensepulsedlight (IPL) – The medical and cosmetic practitioners used this technology to perform several treatments of skin for therapeutic and aesthetic purposes such as photo rejuvenation like sun damage, thread veins and skin pigmentation. It also treat alleviate dermatologic diseases such as acne.

Lasers resurfacing – It is the technology for the treatment to reduce skin irregularities and facial wrinkles such as acne scars and blemishes.
